Adobe Digital Editions (ADE)
is software that works with OverDrive, the service that provides digital material to
libraries, to manage the Digital Rights Management (DRM) of electronic
media and transfer the content to eReaders through a

Step A. How to
Check Out an EPUB or PDF eBook
Using your personal computer
(not a library computer) with an Internet connection:
1. Visit the Digital Downloads section
at
ncantonlibrary.org to find a book
2. Click Add to Cart
3. Click Proceed to Checkout
4. Select North Canton Public Library option
from the Library drop down menu
5. Type your Library Card number in
the box
6. Select Login
7. Click Confirm Check Out and your
book will display
8. Click on the Click here to download
the software needed to use this Adobe PDF eBook title.
Step B.
Installing Adobe Digital Editions
1. Scroll down and click To download and
install Adobe® Digital Editions, click here.
2. Scroll down and click Install (if
already installed the button will read Launch)
3. Click Install again
4. Click Yes
5. Click Next when you see the Adobe
Digital Editions Setup window
6. Click Install
7. Click Close
8. Click I Agree

Step C.
Account Set Up and Activation
1. When the Setup Assistant displays,
click Continue
2. Users with Adobe ID Accounts enter their
Adobe ID and password, then click Activate
3. Users without an Adobe ID account, set
up an account at this time (steps 4 - 8)
4. Click the get an Adobe ID online link
5. When an Internet browser opens, click Create
an Adobe ID Account
6. Follow the account creations steps and
click Continue twice
7. Redisplay the ADE Authorization setup
and enter the Adobe ID and password, then click Activate and Finished
