ADULT SUMMER SESSION. Classes meet ONE day a week for SIX weeks and will run the weeks of July 8 through August 12. The fee is $30.00 for the entire six week session.
SA1. Adult “Ink, Line and Watercolor Wash” Monday 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Instructor: Rudy Amatangelo
Rudy offers a special course that explores the creative use of Ink, Line and Watercolor Wash with in the limitations of a simple monochromatic medium. This type of training frees the artist in simplifying and editing the complex masses of nature and sharpens skills that are necessary in selecting and composing subject matter when using this medium. Open by invitation to all artists who have had regular
watercolor instruction with the instructor. This class has a requested supply list available online and at the library’s information center.
SA2. Adult “Intrigued by Watercolor” Tuesday 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Instructor: Nancy Stewart Matin
Tried watercolor and got stuck on your own? Let us show you techniques that will teach and expand whatever knowledge you have. Always wanted to try watercolor? We can do that, too. This class has a requested supply list available online and at the library’s information center.

FULL - SC1-1. K-2 grade ''Summer Splash'' Monday and Wednesday 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Instructor: Marjorie Lutes
Try out chalk, colored pencils and watercolors! We will make imaginary animals, a comical family portrait, a Tiffany inspired design, and a watery deep sea painting.
SC1-2. 3-5 grade "Scrap Crafts" Monday and Wednesday 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Instructor: Marjorie Lutes
We will begin with a wire and papier-mâché animal, then choose from hundreds of donated scrap materials to make an unusual book, a collage landscape, and an otherworldly alien.
FULL - SC1-3. K-2 grade “The Science of Art” Tuesday and Thursday 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Instructor: Pam Neff
We will use gravity to paint, chlorophyll to decorate and will watch as the chemical reactions make our projects bubble and fizz.
SC1-4. 6-8 grade “Jewelry Making” Tuesday and Thursday 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Instructor: Pam Neff
Learn jewelry making techniques such as bead making, metal working, wire wrapping and more. With each class you will have a piece of jewelry to wear or give as a gift and the skills to make more.

FULL - SC2-1. K-2 grade “Ready, Set…...DRAW!” Tuesday and Thursday 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Instructor: Clare Aitken
Learn simple, basic drawing techniques using pencils, crayons, markers, charcoal and pastels. Each student will make a “book” of their drawings to be taken home after the last class.
SC2-2. 3-5 grade ”Print Shop” Tuesday and Thursday 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Instructor: Clare Aitken
Learn about the many ways to make printed art, using washable printing inks and paint on paper, cardboard, styrofoam and fabric.
SC2-3. K-2 grade “Art From Story book” Wednesday and Friday 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Instructor: Jennifer Jones
This class will be story guided art themes for children to explore creativity inspired by imaginative children's literature.
HELPING HANDS/PARENT and CHILD being creative together. Classes meet ONE day per week for THREE weeks and will run the weeks of July 29 through August 12. The fee is $10.00 for one entire three week session.
HH1. CHILD age 3-5 with an ADULT “Party Piñata” Friday 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Instructor: Jennifer Jones
Together you will build and decorate a perfect party piñata for a summer picnic.
HH2. CHILD age 3-5 with an ADULT “Fairy Homes” Friday 12 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. Instructor: Jennifer Jones
Create a fun fantasy house out of found objects and tissue boxes, along with a little fairy to play with.
Classes are first come first serve and fill quickly. You must have a North Canton Public Library card to register.
All CHILDREN’S art class registration will be done ONLINE only.
Adult art class registration may be done by paper form or online. Paper registration forms are near the front
entrance of the library.
CLASS CONFIRMATION and STUDENT CANCELLATION
We cannot contact each student individually. Remember to check class confirmation for held classes. Call to hear a message: 330-499-4712, at the prompt press nine, or check online at: www.ncantonlibrary.org. Information will also be posted in the library. Cancellation of a class must be made before the registration deadline. If you have registered yourself or your child for a class “that person is enrolled” unless we are called with a cancellation. PAYMENT: Please do not make payment at this time. Payments for confirmed classes will be due no later than the second class. Please remember to bring your payment to class. Payment can be made by check or cash. All checks must be made out to North Canton Public Library.
PLEASE NOTE: Failure to pay will result in the fee being charged against your library account, and may result in your account being blocked from use and being reported to the library's collection agency. By registering for a class, you verify that you accept this policy.
